Future of Fickle Wind races
Posted on: 17/03/2009 18:59:04
At the recent AGM a number of people were of the opinion that we should not have Fickle Wind races. I believe the suggestion was that, if there was enough wind for a Fickle Wind race, then there was enough wind for a normal series race.

The Race Committee will discuss this issue soon and would welcome comments and suggestions from anyone who races at the club, either here on the forum or in written form.

When the winds are very light and variable the bigger boats stand no chance of sailing to their PY;when the winds are very strong all the boats can sail to their PY if the helms can cope with the conditions.
We favour continuing the current Fickle Wind Trophy races as it is fairer to more boats.
