Social Events, Work Parties and Duty Officer Training 2010
This calendar covers a variety of club activities not listed in the racing calendar. All members are invited to join in these events
at which they can meet and socialise with other members.
Club Days: - these are informal events to which you are encouraged to bring visitors. Barbecue charcoal will be available for Club Days and throughout the Wednesday evening racing series for members who wish to bring their own food for a social gathering.
Work Parties: - if you haven’t paid an ‘Opt Out’ contribution this is your chance to bring your garden tools, meet new members
and help to get the club premises and boat park looking their best.
Dinners: - these are a traditional part of every Wednesday evening series of races. A meal is arranged to mark the beginning and
end of the series. Together with the Christmas Dinner these provide a further opportunity to meet up with fellow members in a
convivial environment.
Ladies Cake & Sail: - a couple of hours just for the Ladies who have never sailed, or are feeling a little rusty. We promise a gentle
sail (if it’s wet/ windy we just eat the cake) come along, get your feet wet and meet some other members.
Rallies: - these are open to all club members; the East Coast & Solent Rallies are on yachts either owned or chartered by members
for the weekend.
The Chichester Cruise is a casual cruise for dinghy sailors in company around Chichester Harbour. It is especially popular with
families who fancy a seawater sail. All ages are welcome and coastal experience is not essential.
The "Race into The Dark" - This is a Charity Team Event aimed at raising money for a deserving cause. Racing starts at midday on Saturday and continues into the late evening, providing an interesting and exciting opportunity to experience racing in the
dark.
